  • For even more RPMs, check out rpmfind.net.
  • You may also want to check the list of Ibiblio mirrors, if the above links don't work for you.
Please also check the patches page to see if there are any fixes for the latest release.

TkDesk Installation

Binary Packages

  1. If you're planning to use a package containing dynamically linked binaries make sure you got Tcl/Tk installed on your system (preferred versions are 8.0 or better, but 7.5/4.1 and 7.6/4.2 will do as well).
  2. Download both the "common" package and one of the binary packages.
  3. Go into the directory that you want to be the base directory for TkDesk, e.g. "/usr/local".
  4. Extract both tar files using a command like: "gzip -cd file | tar xvf -"
  5. If you didn't use "/usr/local" as the base directory, set the TKDESK_LIBRARY environment variable to point to the complete path of the TkDesk directory created by extracting the "common" tar file. You may also have to edit the file bin/tkdesk and replace "/usr/local" in lines 3 and 6 with the path of your base directory.
  6. Now you should be all set. Make sure base-dir/bin is in your PATH and run "tkdesk".
